Judges (January – March)

A thirteen-week historical study of Israel’s 300-year period when Judges were God’s earthly administrators over the nation of Israel (1375-1075 B.C.). The study focuses on the cycle of faithfulness – apostasy – suffering – repentance – restoration experienced by Israel in their relationship with God. The book was written both for Israel’s learning and for ours (Rom. 15:4), and is morally relevant to America’s experiences today.

 1 Corinthians (April – June)

A thirteen-week study of the first epistle written by the apostle Paul to the church of God at Corinth (ca. A.D. 55/56). This church was full of members who had come out of idolatry and pagan immorality to become disciples of Christ. The letter deals with numerous spiritual and moral issues dealt with by this young church of Christ. The lessons learned are as relevant today as ever!

Jeremiah (July – September)

Known as the “weeping prophet,” Jeremiah was commissioned by God to warn the nation of Judah of its impending doom at the hands of the Babylonian Empire (627-586 B.C.) if they did not repent and turn back to God. Judah had become a wicked, idolatrous people who stubbornly refused to repent. Rather than listen to Jeremiah, they  ridiculed his message, persecuted and tried to kill him, and sealed their national fate at the hands of mighty Babylonia. A 13-week survey of this major prophet of 52 chapters. Learn how God deal justly with the nations.

2 Corinthians (October – December)

A thirteen-week study of the second epistle written by the apostle Paul to the church at Corinth (ca. A.D. 57). This letter is a response to the corrections made as a result of the first letter. Paul commends their obedience, and then begins to defend both his apostolic office and work among them. False teachers are trying to discredit Paul and he is forced into a personal defense. A thrilling study which gives much insight into the character and life of the apostle Paul.
